Yesturday I took a trip to Venice Beach, The sun was shining and the weather was sweet, it was a great day to go to the beach, I knew there would be lots to photograph there, If you want to check out a wild beach in California go to Venice.  I hadn’t been for a while- there is so much to look at there and I wasnt the only one with a camera, I saw sooo many people with their cameras. 

If you have been or go in the future you are sure to see many of the same people I photographed….The guy above I know I’ve seen before….

Going to this beach it almost feels like I dreamed it and all the people who were there, it just has that weird vibe like a dream does…. I think of that song by the doors….People are strange when your a stranger, faces look ugly when your alone……you know the song- that song always reminds me of the movie Lost Boys, which much of takes place on a boardwalk…(the twighlight/ new moon of my day:)   R.I.P. Corey Haim….I had so many posters of him on my wall when I was like 10…

There are people selling everything here, this man was burning this design into a piece of wood using only the heat from the sun and a magnifying glass, I thought this was pretty cool!  I would have bought it from him if I hadn’t spent all my money before I even arrived at the beach…

Speaking of  The Doors….Jimi Hendrix was performing- one of my favorites…He was singing one of my favorites too….Red House, too bad his amp was just ridiculous…

Anyone have Coulrophobia???  An abnormal or exaggerated fear of clowns.  Me either…

A skaters dream… right on the beach, what more could a kid ask for… check it out: Venice Beach Skate Park

This kid below was skating with a wheel under each foot attatched to this tiny metal peice that he just gripped onto, leaving him free to move his feet seperately like roller skates but sideways,  he was gliding and flying all over the place!  I have never seen anything like this, it looked pretty hard to do, soo cool…

It was a good day…

Dramatic Black and White photo challenge.  I decided to go ahead and participate in my first i heart faces entry.  The challenge  is a dramatic black and white and the rules say you have to use a human face in every challenge.  I thought this was a good black and white that shows miss Chantels serious side from our Easter shoot last week:)  This one doesn’t say Easter at all, it is saying I’m the photo to use for the I (heart)  faces challenge:).

Spring is in the air and Easter is fast approaching, My little friend, Chantel, who was my flowergirl in my wedding needed her annual Easter photos for the card her parents send out.  How cute is she with her little dress, stockings, patten leather shoes, and matching coat?  This girl is no stranger to the camera, she was on point and loving it.  She is growing up so fast, I had fun photographing her, and she had fun pelting her daddy with plastic easter eggs.

I really like this one….It really brings out her real smile:)

This one is Chantel and her doggy, “princess”.  A fun fact about Princess is that she is my dog “Lima’s” sister, from a different litter… Princess is older and much smaller but believe it or not they are from the same parents…

Putting these photos into my computer and going through them I was able to play with a few of them in photoshop and then it started saying it couldnt do what I wanted it to because “the scratch disc is full” Oh how I hate my old computer and old version of elements I have!  I can’t wait to be able to really experiment with my pictures… download actions, and textures, I must get a new computer soon! One day………………….

Sitting in the living room its 1:43 a.m., late even for me.  Not even my dogs are still here, usually at least Lima sticks around with me until I go to bed.  I don’t blame him- I’ve been starring at the computer reading a blog that is more like a book that you can’t put down.  I realized as I read that I should try to blog more often, even if there aren’t a series of photos to go with what I post about.   I should be asleep, I feel that I’m tired but I have terrible sleep habits and I get sucked into the world wide web. 

 Today was cool because I went out and bought the most affordable lens I could buy, the canon 50mm 1.8 II,  I read up on it and heard great things, that its a great bang for your buck, and I am all about that so I decided that I wouldn’t think about it anymore, I called Fullerton Cameras and they had them in stock.  Perfect, I drove down and just like that I bought my first lens, that didn’t come in my lens kit with my camera.  While I was at it… I bought this really cool little vintage camera that I dont know much about  other than it was probably used around the 50′s… It cost me $8.75 which was a steel in my head for a cool looking vintage camera, which reminds me of the post right before this one- about my addiction to buying “stuff”, but to me its more than stuff.  I think ahead:  I will see this camera years from now and remember it was the first in my awesome collection (shhhh dont tell Jason about this) and that I bought it that day when I bought that $100 lens because I wanted one so bad and it was the only one I could justify buying myself.  While I was in the store I asked myself the question I try to ask myself when I’m about to buy something that has no use…Do I need it? easy answer: NO but do I really like it, want it, am I gonna regret not buying it later? YES! So Yes won…. I’m over it, glad I got it… no regrets! So tomorrow I am shooting my little friend, Chantel- she was actually my flower girl in my wedding, sooooooooo cute you will see, I am gonna try out the new lens….

And here is a picture just because I dont want to ruin my streek of posting pictures so far… I took this with my p&s… made these turqoise earrings the other day… Im happy to say they found a new home… I wish I would have taken photos of all the pieces I’ve made since ’99…. goodnight
