Meet Sophia! I posted photos of her when she was in her mommys’belly. She is now 4 months and super cute, she didn’t stop smiling and was a complete joy to take pictures of! Here is a picture of Ruth and her big brother Robert. These two have always had a special bond and now they share it with Sophia.

Sophia is blessed with two great parents, here she is with her daddy…

Dramatic Black and White photo challenge. I decided to go ahead and participate in my first i heart faces entry. The challenge is a dramatic black and white and the rules say you have to use a human face in every challenge. I thought this was a good black and white that shows miss Chantels serious side from our Easter shoot last week:) This one doesn’t say Easter at all, it is saying I’m the photo to use for the I (heart) faces challenge:).

I’m really happy I got the 50mm, It’s fun!
Spring is in the air and Easter is fast approaching, My little friend, Chantel, who was my flowergirl in my wedding needed her annual Easter photos for the card her parents send out. How cute is she with her little dress, stockings, patten leather shoes, and matching coat? This girl is no stranger to the camera, she was on point and loving it. She is growing up so fast, I had fun photographing her, and she had fun pelting her daddy with plastic easter eggs.
I really like this one….It really brings out her real smile:)

This one is Chantel and her doggy, “princess”. A fun fact about Princess is that she is my dog “Lima’s” sister, from a different litter… Princess is older and much smaller but believe it or not they are from the same parents…
Putting these photos into my computer and going through them I was able to play with a few of them in photoshop and then it started saying it couldnt do what I wanted it to because “the scratch disc is full” Oh how I hate my old computer and old version of elements I have! I can’t wait to be able to really experiment with my pictures… download actions, and textures, I must get a new computer soon! One day………………….

Hello! So this is my third post and I have yet to tell anyone about this… haha- I swear it isnt just my diary. I am generally a private person, I am the observer, the listener, I don’t need alot of attention on myself. The funny thing is that many of my friends are the type that do like attention, loud, funny, I am attracted to these kind of people, pure entertainment!
Lets talk about the pictures I’m about to post, my next model, Dominick. This was Dominicks very first photo shoot he’s new to modeling, new to the world…he was just born in November to one of my dearest and oldest friends, Brent and his girlfriend Laura. This was the first time I met baby Dominick and it was surreal to see Brent with his new son. Let me just say in high school Brent was my partner in crime, I have a lot of fun memories with him, he’s hilarious and makes me laugh like nobody’s business, needless to say with our lives changing we dont get to hang out often but I know we will always be friends…One day our kids will cause a rukous together like we did:)

Why start a blog? Recently I have decided to document my photos in a new way. Many photographers use blogs to connect with their clients, potential clients and of course friends and family. I learned that I really like reading other blogs, it is a good way to get to know someone and get a feel for them that a website doesnt deliver the same way.
Why photography? I have always loved photography, I took classes in high school and college, back then they were all film classes. I studied art in college and have been making my jewelry since ’99, all the while loving all things that allow me to be creative, and crafty.
While planning my wedding I was being reminded by my vendors how much I’d love to be one of them. The cake decorator, the florist, the wedding planner (well I WAS my planner), the make up artist, and while I have dabbled in all of the above, I realized the coolest job of them all was the photographer! To me the photos were top priority, one of the only things you can keep from the wedding, cake gets eaten, flowers die, make up gets washed off, but the photos are forever. (and my video- which I love just as much.) So when I booked my photographer, Bob Ortiz, he was so nice I let him know about my interest and passion for photography. Bob was encouraging and told me to start taking photos, lots of photos. I couldnt do that until just recently because I was busy with the wedding so after Christmas I decided after contemplating for months about a grad program (thats another story) to buy a camera and start shooting. Here are some photos from my first try at it…
This is Abigail…

Meet Abigail and her big brother Elijah, my first models. These two cuties were so easy to photograph, these were two of my favorite photos of that day. After this day I couldn’t wait to do it again, so I offered my services to my next model, Josiah.

Another cutie, Josiah was so sweet but not quite as easy to photograph as my first models, Josiah loves his mommy sooo much he wanted to stay super close to her at all times! They have a special bond, and since his mommy is also my cousin, I want to break the news to her that one day she will have to share him with another woman…. but he will always be her baby cub as she likes to call him.
