Waiting on Sophia to arrive…

Almost new parents!  Ruthanna and Eddie are about to become mommy and daddy any day now!  I have known Ruthanna since we were kids, she has always been a sweet girl and a good friend.  Although I have only met Eddie a few times I can tell that he is a good guy, he loves her and is going to be a great father to his baby who they already named “Sophia”.  We met up to take these photos, Ruthanna is Ready!  The baby can come at any moment but until then they can only wait for baby Sophia to arrive, I can’t wait to meet her!

She said yes!

So the last time I posted I talked about our friends Bryan and Grace and how I couldnt wait for them to join the club- well one week later they are engaged! Bryan hosted a birthday party for himself but little did Grace know it was also a Surprise proposal… We all gathered around for a “toast” Bryan thanked his guests and Grace for all of the preparations and then he got down on his knee and popped the question.  She burst into tears as much of the other females in the room did and She said yes!  Bryan being the M.C. that he is, qeued the music and they danced, it was so sweet.   I couldn’t be more happy for them, they are a great couple, they are lucky to have eachother.  I’m excited for another wedding, so far we have four lined up before the end of the year….unless there are anymore surprises???

We packed these Cupcakes for Dessert…

We had a great time with our friends, Bryan and Grace make a great couple, they have been dating for almost four years and I can’t wait until they join “the club” :)   Until then… I was taking some playful pictures of them and here a few others from that day…

Ooh Puppy

Yesturday was Valentines day it was a beautiful day, we didn’t do much, we thought we would do something today instead so that things wouldn’t be so crowded.  So yesturday I took doggy photos for the owner of Ooh Puppy … The owner of the place where I take my dogs to get groomed, she invites her customers to come in on holidays to take a photo, then she gives you  a print the next time you come in.  So when they were telling me to bring the dogs in for Valentines Photos, I asked who takes the photos, they hired some random photographer, I told her I could take the photos and she was all for it since I’m a loyal customer:)

Ooh puppy is right by my house, it’s really cute and clean, they sell tons of accessories for your dog, and really care for them.  I reeally had a blast with the dogs, and their owners, everyone was so nice.  I did get pee’d on which was gross but what are you gonna do, my dogs get really excited and pee sometimes too…

Here are some of my favorite shots from the day…

Baby Dominick…

Hello! So this is my third post and I have yet to tell anyone about this… haha- I swear it isnt just my diary.  I am generally a private person, I am the observer, the listener, I don’t need alot of attention on myself.  The funny thing is that many of my friends are the type that do like attention, loud, funny, I am attracted to these kind of people, pure entertainment!

Lets talk about the pictures I’m about to post, my next model, Dominick.  This was Dominicks very first photo shoot he’s new to modeling, new to the world…he was just born in November to one of my dearest and oldest friends, Brent and his girlfriend Laura.  This was the first time I met baby Dominick and it was surreal to see Brent with his new son.  Let me just say in high school Brent was my partner in crime, I have a lot of fun memories with him, he’s hilarious and makes me laugh like nobody’s business, needless to say with our lives changing we dont get to hang out often but I know we will always be friends…One day our kids will cause a rukous together like we did:)

Why the blog?

Why start a blog? Recently I have decided to document my photos in a new way.  Many photographers use blogs to connect with their clients, potential clients and of course friends and family.  I learned that I really like reading other blogs, it is a good way to get to know someone and get a feel for them that a website doesnt deliver the same way.

Why photography? I have always loved photography, I took classes in high school and college, back then they were all film classes.  I studied art in college and have been making my jewelry since ’99,  all the while loving all things that allow me to be creative, and crafty.

While planning my wedding I was being reminded by my vendors how much I’d love to be one of them.  The cake decorator, the florist, the wedding planner (well I WAS my planner), the make up artist, and while I have dabbled in all of the above, I realized the coolest job of them all was the photographer! To me the photos were top priority, one of the only things you can keep from the wedding, cake gets eaten, flowers die, make up gets washed off, but the photos are forever.  (and my video- which I love just as much.)  So when I booked my photographer, Bob Ortiz,  he was so nice I let him know about my interest and passion for photography.  Bob was encouraging and told me to start taking photos, lots of photos.  I couldnt do that until just recently because I was busy with the wedding so after Christmas I decided after contemplating for months about a grad program (thats another story)  to buy a camera and start shooting.  Here are some photos from my first try at it…

This is Abigail…

Meet Abigail and her big brother Elijah, my first models.  These two cuties  were so easy to photograph, these were two of my favorite photos of that day.  After this day I couldn’t wait to do it again, so I offered my services to my next model, Josiah.

Another cutie, Josiah was so sweet but not quite as easy to photograph as my first models, Josiah loves his mommy sooo much he wanted to stay super close to her at all times!  They have a special bond, and since his mommy is also my cousin, I want to break the news to her that one day she will have to share him with another woman…. but he will always be her baby cub as she likes to call him.

Hello world!

What do I think I am doing, it was not too long ago I didn’t really know exactly what a blog was…I know that sounds like I live in a cave or something-  It is what I figured it was but I never thought I would have one.  Here I am, “blogging”, never gave them any thought until I started to read other blogs.  Some are interesting and some not so much.  I heard that blogs are dying which made me think twice about starting one but why not? Will anyone read it? I dont know but if anything else it could serve as a way for me to journal, share my favorite photos and vent.

Let me first say that I am not a computer genius, I get by but I’m well aware that my sites need help ($).  In the meantime bear with me.

So If your reading this and you dont know me, welcome.  In the picture above is a picture of my husband and I, just married in June. I ordered this photobooth last minute, I wanted it from the start but it wasnt really in the budget but I am so happy we got it, it was a big hit, it doubled as another favor for our guests, tripled as a guestbook, everyone got 2 pics, one to keep and one for our guestbook that everyone signed under their picture.  Genius- whoever thought of this….I love seeing these pics on the refridgerators of our friends and family.  I love photobooths anywhere, anytime- If I see one I want to jump in it… So when I got the idea from one of my wedding magazines I instantly new that this would be my “must have” on our day, and it was one of the many great purchases we made for the wedding, worth every penny, It was the first booth I’d seen at a wedding and happy it was at our wedding.  Here are some more great booth pics from that lovey day…

You can see how our friends and family loved it!  I wish I could have one at my house.
